Globalisation of DAV Colleges Towards Higher Technical Education

Our colleges have always been the pride of the country by excelling in all spheres of college activities. They have bben in the forefront of reckoning by monopolising top notch positions in their respective universities in academics, sports and cultural fields, thus becoming the envy of their counterparts.

Recently new avenues started opening of greener pastures reckoned to them courses related to business administration, computer technology, information sciences, fashion designing etc. appeared on the ducational horizons. The college grabbed the oppurtunities under the guidance of the managing committee. Our principals took the initiative and introduced in almost all our colleges the courses such as Bachelor in Business administration, Bachelor in Information Technology, Bachelor in Information sciences and Bachelor in Computer Applications. Other new courses started in various colleges include such job oriented, computer based and need related courses such as MBA, MCA, MIT, M.Com, IT, MBE M.Sc.(software), fashion designing and garment construction, B.Cam, B.Sc., Computer Science B.Com(Proffesional) including other vocational courses under the UGC scheme under the 9th plan period etc. Since these courses are self financing, they have also boosted the finances of the colleges. It is a matter of pride that most of our colleges have made a name for themselves.

Keeping in view the fast trends of gobalisation in the field of computer related technology, the DAV College Managing Committee has also entered the arena of higher technical education by starting its first ever engineering college i.e DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar and the second engineering college i.e DAV College of Engineering and Technology at Kanina, Haryana. The Manging Committee propses to establish a chain of such colleges in other states too in the near future.
